Lucchese boots and Stetson hats might not be our standard uniform in Miami, but despite the absence of Tim McGraw tunes on South Beach, the West is alive and well in our little piece of paradise. Proof: The Homestead Championship Rodeo is celebrating its 65th year of bull riding, rodeo clowns, and country tunes. With the distinct honor of being the southernmost rodeo in the continental United States, this year’s shindig will feature a rodeo queen coronation, barrel racing, rodeo bingo, local food vendors, and all the country twang you can tolerate. Plus, there’ll be a rodeo parade, a tribute to folks in uniform, a parachute team (weather permitting), and the main attraction: rodeo pros. So don your American flag tank top and cutoffs, shine those pointy-toed boots, and ride ’em, cowboys and cowgirls.
