Make a Splash, Big Boy

What is it about the Marlins Manatees, the world’s first dance group of overweight men, that causes baseball fans to go bananas? Well, the Manatees, emphasis on the man, are true baseball fans. They know the infield fly rule and how to carry five draft beers and a sausage back to their seats. But, unlike us, they aren’t embarrassed by their stomachs or looking like Village People rejects. They do what we wish we could do — dance in front of thousands of baseball fans like there is no one watching. Think you’ve got what it takes to join them?

If you have a big belly and an equally big set of gonads, head to the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino this Sunday for Marlins Manatees tryouts. Could you be the next Mr. Mantastic for the Marlins’ 2010 season? One thing’s for sure: David Samson isn’t going to hire anyone else to help the Marlins make the playoffs. Be prepared to learn a dance routine and sweat.
