September brings fall, and with it comes darkness. Likewise, a shady new club night, Hallelujah Presents Black Fridays, creeps into indie-rock club the Vagabond (30 NE 14th St., Miami) this week — making its Miami debut on the eerie date of Friday the 13th. Black Fridays migrated to the Vagabond from Broward; for years, the gothic party stimulated partygoers’ sense of horror, fantasy, and play at the Green Room in Fort Lauderdale, hosting themed cosplay nights such as the Great Gatsby Night, Fairytale Night, and Tim Burton Night. But now, Dade goths can rejoice in three rooms of sound. The sonic room will play indie, rock, and dance music. In the ethereal garden, down-tempo and atmospheric jams will spread moody vibes. And in the main room, Black Fridays’ DJ Lindersmash will present dark, New Wave, industrial, synth, and electric sounds. Think the Cure, Joy Division, the Smiths, and NIN. Dress darkly. If that’s not enough reason to sing praises to the one above (or below), the night also features live bands and body paint performances. Astari Nite, Ketchy Shuby, and the Goddam Hustle will play.
