South Beach just got a little cooler. But it’s not just the fall weather that’s making the tourist paradise a bit more chill. The City of Miami Beach has resurrected its open-air movie-screening series just in time for Halloween. The free SoundScape Cinema Series @ ExoStage (500 17th St., Miami Beach) resumes this Wednesday with 2013’s The Great Gatsby, starring Leonardo di Caprio, Tobey Maguire, and Carey Mulligan. The series is presented by the Marilyn and Edward Gadinsky Charitable Foundation. Bring your own chairs or blankets, and have a picnic under the stars while enjoying the film on a 7,000-square-foot projection wall at the 2.5-acre public park designed by Dutch architectural firm West 8. It doesn’t get much cooler than that. Other classics to follow throughout the season include The Poseidon Adventure, Les Misérables, and — for Halloween -— the spooky kids’ flick Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
