Forgotten South Florida Depicts the Region's Persistent Housing Struggles

Photographer Nicole Taylor-Lang offers a closer look at abandoned properties across South Florida, proving that not everyone has recovered from Florida's housing woes nearly a decade after the crash. Taylor-Lang began shooting the empty buildings as a journalism student at Florida International University around 2011. "The housing market seems to be doing better but it’s sad to see how easily these buildings are forgotten," she says. Read more on the photo project here.
