All'Antico Vinaio, the Florence sandwich shop that draws long lines and viral TikToks, is coming to Miami with two locations: one in Brickell and another on Lincoln Road.
The Brickell location will open at 87 SW Eighth St., the former home of Stanzione 87, which left the location in 2024 after 11 years. All'Antico Vinaio announced the Lincoln Road location earlier this year, but neither spot has opened yet.

The Florence Phenomenon
The Mazzanti family opened All'Antico Vinaio in Florence in 1991. What started as a wine-and-snack counter evolved into something bigger when tourists and locals began lining up for sandwiches made with schiacciata, a traditional Tuscan flatbread.The name "All'Antico Vinaio" translates to "at the old wine merchant," reflecting the shop's roots in the Tuscan tradition of pairing sandwiches with local wine. Workers would stop by for morning snacks or afternoon "merenda," Italy's tradition of a small meal between main meals.
The shop earned recognition from Saveur magazine, which called it home to the "World's Best Sandwiches" in 2016. Long lines became part of the experience, stretching down Florence's narrow streets. The sandwiches became social media stars, with food bloggers and tourists posting videos of the overstuffed creations.
The key is the schiacciata bread, baked fresh daily. It's sturdy enough to hold heavy fillings without falling apart, a necessity when you're stuffing sandwiches with prosciutto, pecorino, truffle spreads, sun-dried tomatoes, and arugula.

American Expansion
Tommaso Mazzanti, whose family runs the original shops, partnered with Tanya Bastianich Manuali and Joe Bastianich (the Master Chef judge and restaurateur) to bring the concept to America. Filling the Stanzione Gap
The Brickell location will occupy the space left vacant when Stanzione 87, a popular Neapolitan pizza spot, shut down. Stanzione 87 opened in 2013 and built a following among Miami pizza lovers before moving to an outpost inside The Citadel last year.No opening dates have been announced for either Miami location.
