The new location marks Maman's latest expansion in Miami, following openings in Wynwood, Coral Gables, South Miami, South Beach, Sunset Harbour, and West Palm Beach since 2024. Founded in New York in 2014 by Elisa Marshall and Benjamin Sormonte, the brand now operates more than 45 cafés across North America, blending French-American fare with a carefully curated aesthetic inspired by the South of France.
At 830 Brickell, Maman is introducing a handful of items not available at its other locations. The guava mint iced matcha (priced between $7.50 and $8.50) combines shaken guava-mint lemonade with cold-frothed matcha and fresh mint. It's joined by a guava beignet ($6), a sugar-dusted pastry filled with guava jam that nods to South Florida's Latin influence.

Signature creations include Maman’s famous nutty chocolate chip cookie, which gained notoriety for being featured on "Oprah’s Favorite Things" list.

Its Famous Baked Goods Are Back in Its Largest SoFlo Location Yet
As with all locations, the menu reflects a balance of light options and indulgent treats, featuring classic, gluten-free, and vegan baked goods, salads, and sandwiches, reflecting their vision of offering diverse culinary experiences. Marshall emphasizes staying true to Maman's roots as it expands, saying, "We don't want to be an overly trendy or healthy café. To us, it's all about balance, envisioning a fresh, tasty salad in one hand and a warm cookie in the other."Maman's famous nutty chocolate chip cookie, a favorite of Oprah Winfrey, continues to be a standout, drawing crowds eager to taste the gooey, chocolatey delight that perfectly balances crisp edges with a soft, chewy center. But it's not just the cookies that have Miamians talking. The café's commitment to community engagement and local collaborations has made it a favorite in every neighborhood it enters.
A New Play Area for Children, Event Space, and More
In Brickell, the flagship café includes a dedicated play area for children and a private event space that accommodates catering and small gatherings. "We wanted to create a space that felt like home, where people could enjoy a mix of French and North American flavors," Marshall shared in a previous interview with New Times. The café's interior continues the Maman design language: vintage furnishings, custom espresso machines wrapped in toile print, imported tiles, and floral accents throughout the space.
Maman first entered the Miami market in early 2024 with a Wynwood location and has since established a steady presence across South Florida. According to Marshall, Miami was a natural choice for expansion, citing the city's cultural diversity and strong crossover with Maman's New York customer base.
Beyond its café operations, Maman has evolved into a lifestyle brand, offering retail items, local collaborations, and a published cookbook. Its chocolate chip cookie, made with macadamia nuts, almonds, and chunks of dark chocolate, has remained one of its top-selling items since being featured on Oprah Winfrey's annual "Favorite Things" list.
