The Miami-born chef, best known for winning Chopped, charming Coral Gables with Luca Osteria, leading Mayfair Grill in Coconut Grove, and turning Eating House into a local institution, is setting his sights on Wynwood. In 2026, he is expected to debut Luca Steak, a full-service Italian steakhouse anchoring the base of Wynwood Plaza's new office tower.
The forthcoming restaurant will serve Rapicavoli's signature blend of Italian flavors and Miami flair in a slick, design-forward space with nearly 2,000 square feet of outdoor seating perfect for dining al fresco.

For Rapicavoli, the expansion is a natural next chapter. "It's a special opportunity to continue my own growth within Miami by expanding the Luca Osteria brand with the addition of Luca Steak," he says. "As an American of Italian descent, Luca Steak will represent a traditional Italian steakhouse with a sophisticated design fitting of the Miami restaurant landscape."Luca Steak isn't just another red-sauce joint with a ribeye on the menu. Rapicavoli is aiming higher, blending old-world Italian sensibilities with the bold, contemporary energy that's defined his career.
The menu hasn’t dropped yet, though when it opens next year, diners can expect lunch and dinner service with a full bar. Guests can dine indoors in the 4,500-square-foot space or snag a table outside along the landscaped public plaza.
Luca Steak will serve as a culinary anchor for Wynwood Plaza, a one-million-square-foot mixed-use development from L&L Holding Company and Oak Row Equities. The project includes 509 residential units, a landscaped public plaza, a curated mix of retail and dining, and a 50,000-square-foot Amazon office, marking the largest office lease in Wynwood's history.
For Rapicavoli, the expansion into Wynwood marks a new chapter in a career already deeply intertwined with the city's culinary evolution. In addition to the Luca Osteria brand, he helms the longstanding Coral Gables concept, Eating House, and the wood-fired Mayfair Grill in Coconut Grove.
