The Miami-Dade State Attorney's Office has charged real estate broker Oren Alexander, 37, and his twin brother Alon with felony first-degree sexual battery following an investigation into sexual assault allegations that occurred in Miami Beach.

At a joint press conference with Miami Beach Police Chief Wayne Jones on Wednesday, Miami-Dade State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle announced that the brothers were arrested at their respective homes in Miami Beach this morning.

Oren Alexander faces two charges of sexual battery and a charge of sexual battery by multiple perpetrators. Alon Alexander faces one charge of sexual battery by multiple perpetrators.

The charges stem from three incidents, one of which involves Oren, Alon, and a family friend, Ohad Fisherman (also a luxury real estate agent), while the other two pertain only to Oren.

Rundle didn’t rule out the possibility of charges against Tal Alexander, 38, who is charged in the federal sex trafficking case in New York, in the future.

As she detailed the three incidents, Rundle applauded the victims of the sex crimes, three local women, for coming forward.

"Time and time again, we see people who use their fame, money, and power to create opportunities to create sexual crimes and silence their victims," Rundle told the media.

Fisherman is considered still at large, Rundle said. The twins are expected to appear in court later this afternoon.

The affidavits accompanying the warrants describe the alleged sex crimes in graphic detail. Jones characterized the allegations against the three men as "deeply troubling."

Editor's note: Because these are three separate incidents and the victims are not named, we are identifying the women as Victim 1, Victim 2, and Victim 3 for the sake of clarity.

Alon and Oren Alexander; Ohad Fisherman (December 31, 2016)

On New Year’s Eve in 2016, Victim 1 received an innocuous photo shot from a balcony: people enjoying a barbecue. Alon Alexander asked her to join the festivities, and she agreed, according to the affidavit.

When she arrived at Alexander's residence at 5875 Collins Ave. in Miami Beach, he met her in the lobby and they went up in an elevator that opened directly into his home.

Though the photo had led her to believe others were present at the barbecue, she quickly realized that was not the case. Once inside, Alon introduced her to two men: his twin brother, Oren Alexander, and their friend, Ohad Fisherman.

Alon led his guest on a tour of his home, eventually leading her to his bedroom, which was occupied by two women who appeared to be maids," according to the affidavit. As the maids left the room, the woman said she noticed looks of concern on their faces.

Shortly thereafter, Oren Alexander and Fisherman entered the room and locked the door. Fisherman approached Victim 1 from behind and "held her shoulders, forcing her onto her back," the affidavit states. He then placed his knees behind her shoulders and pinned her arms onto the bed.

The woman said the twins discussed who would have sex with her first. As Alon and Oren removed her shorts and bathing suit bottom, she cried and pleaded with him, "Not to do it, please no, please no."

Oren was first to penetrate her. She said she went into "survival mode" and “pretended to like it" so the rape would end. She said her trick worked: Oren stopped penetrating her, removed his condom, said "fuck this," and stormed out of the room.

Alon then took over and penetrated her as Oren sat in a chair in the corner. Oren told her she would not be allowed to leave until she had sex with Fisherman. She was crying hysterically and said she would not do that. Fisherman did not penetrate her, according to the affidavit, instead holding her down while Alon and Oren Alexander sexually assaulted her. Oren then left the room, telling her to go shower.

Oren entered the bathroom and watched as she showered, which she believed was meant to ensure she was washing away any evidence. He sat in the room as she dressed "to possibly not allow her to make any outgoing phone calls." He called an Uber to pick her up. As she was leaving, Alon told her not to tell anyone about what had transpired, the affidavit continues.

After she returned to her hotel, Victim 1 showered again, and then told her two sisters and a friend about the sexual battery. She did not go to police out of fear of retribution.

Rundle described the incident as "a gang rape."

Oren Alexander (October 20, 2017)

At some point in 2017, Oren Alexander, who ran in the same social circles as Victim 2, added her as a friend on Instagram, sending her a direct message asking if she'd join him at the beach, according to the affidavit.

Victim 2 ultimately met Oren and his family at the beach. Weeks later, she received another Instagram message from Oren, inviting her to dinner and a real estate event in Hallandale Beach. She met Oren and his friend for dinner on October 19, 2017, after which the group made its way to the event.

Oren spent most of the evening on his phone, she recalled. But when he invited her to grab drinks with him and his friend afterward, she obliged, ordering a vodka soda and leaving the bar with Oren in his black Mercedes.

Though she preferred to go home, she accepted Oren’s invitation back to his home for a glass of wine because she thought that if they were alone, he would “not be so socially awkward,” according to the affidavit. The two arrived at his home on Collins Avenue around 2 a.m.

Once inside his home, Alexander served Victim 2 a glass of wine, which she did not finish. Oren asked if she wanted to try on his virtual-reality goggles. The affidavit describes how she tried on the goggles and began to walk around. When she turned her back to Oren for a moment, he abruptly unzipped her dress, removed it, and moved her to his bedroom, pushing her into the bed.

Victim 2 recalled still wearing the goggles as she lay naked on Oren’s bed and attempted to cover her breasts with her hands while asking him to stop. As she removed the goggles, she began to feel her strength fade.

“She stated it felt as if she was no longer in control of her own body," the affidavit states. When Oren positioned himself on top of her, she lacked the strength to push him off and felt "stressed because she could not move or speak."

Oren penetrated Victim 2 vaginally with his penis, absent a condom, at which point the victim began to cry. Upon noticing her tears, Oren said, "Stop it, we're having great sex. You’re ruining it," the affidavit reads.

The victim allegedly had no further recollection of the incident. She awoke the next morning still undressed on Alexander's bed, without either party bringing up the prior night. Alexander ordered her an Uber home.

At an unknown later date, after Alexander asked if Victim 2 would spend time with him on the beach near his residence, she met up to confront him, according to the affidavit. The two ended up in his hot tub, where Alexander once again sexually assaulted the woman, this time ejaculating on her stomach.

When Victim 2 shared her story with friends, "Her friends began to tell her that Subject Alexander had sexually battered or attempted to sexually batter them as well," the affidavit reads. When Alexander learned that the victim was talking to others about what happened between them, he threatened her via text message.

"Nothing happened," he wrote. "If you keep talking about it, I'm going to ruin you."

Oren Alexander (October 26, 2021)

Following a dinner Victim 3 attended with a friend, she accompanied Oren Alexander back to his residence on his boat. After playful flirtation turned to aggressive kissing that resulted in Alexander ripping Victim 3's dress straps, she attempted to leave his residence.

But she found that she was unable to exit via the back doors downstairs, as they were controlled by remote.

When Victim 3 traveled back upstairs to ask Alexander to "let her out of the house," according to the affidavit, he removed her T-shirt and "mounted the victim and held her down with his knees." Alexander then "began to masturbate as the Victim told him 'No.' Despite the fact that the Victim's legs were in the closed position, Subject Alexander was able to penetrate her vagina digitally, with extreme force."

He continued masturbating, eventually ejaculating on Victim 3's stomach, neck, and face.

Update published 12/13/24: This morning, Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Lody Jean set a $3 million bond for the pretrial release of Oren Alexander and a $2 million bond for Alon Alexander in the Miami sexual battery case. However, the pair will remain in custody on the federal sex trafficking charges.

Additionally, law enforcement officials initially identified Ohad Fisherman as a cousin of the Alexander brothers. A judge later confirmed that Fisherman is a family friend. This story reflects that correction.
