Ever get the feeling you’re haunted by Aztecs? No? Do you want to know what that feels like? Of course you do, and Jungle Island (1111 Parrot Jungle Trail, Miami) is giving you that sixth sense just in time for the Halloween season. For 20 nights, the family-friendly ecological park will transform into something so gnarly it’ll send shivers down your spine. Jungle Island has teamed up with the creator of Festival of Sounds (Demon Mansion), Florida’s favorite haunted house, to create the after-dark fun of Terror in the Jungle, kicking things off this Thursday with hair-raising shows, ruins, and tons of zombie madness. Try to make your way through the paths alive and marvel at the 10,000-square-foot ancient pyramid grounds. That’s where the traditional haunted-house spooks come out to play. If you’re in the market for a good scream, lace your boots and hit the trails any Thursday through Sunday beginning at 7:30 p.m. until Halloween. There will also be a special reprise performance November 1, the Day of the Dead. Tickets cost $45 to $55, and all ages are welcome. Call 305-400-7000 or visit jungleisland.com.
