Good news for outdoor and music lovers alike: The Underline, the linear park running beneath the Metrorail from Brickell to Dadeland South, will host 10 free concerts in 2026, thanks to a new grant from the Levitt Foundation.

Friends of The Underline, the nonprofit behind the park’s programming, announced that it has secured a multi-year Levitt Music Series Grant that will support a new initiative: the Levitt BLOC Miami Music Series. The concerts will take place throughout 2026, with continued support in 2027 and 2028, as part of a broader national effort by the Levitt Foundation to bring free, live music to public spaces.

The Underline has become a key destination for recreation and community events in Miami, earning the title of Best Outdoor Recreation Space from Miami New Times earlier this year. The park has previously hosted a range of cultural activities, including live music performances and parties featuring reggaeton, perreo, and dancehall.

“This grant gives The Underline the ability to curate a powerful first season of free concerts, lifting up local and emerging artists, creating new cultural experiences for our community, and continuing to turn The Underline into Miami’s most exciting stage,” says Lisle Bowen, Chief Marketing Officer of Friends of The Underline, in a press release sent to New Times.

The Levitt BLOC Miami Music Series will feature concerts at various locations along the 10-mile corridor, including new spaces currently under development as part of The Underline’s Phase Three expansion. Among them is the Inter Grove Gallery in Coconut Grove, one of the activation sites for the upcoming music series.

Levitt Music Series Grants are part of a national program that provides matching funds to nonprofits in cities and towns across the United States. The Levitt Foundation, a national social impact funder, focuses on creating inclusive public spaces through music. Each Levitt Music Series location presents 7–10 free concerts annually, covering a broad range of genres and artistic styles.

“The Levitt BLOC program activates a number of public spaces, fostering social connections and adding to the economic vitality and cultural vibrancy across neighborhoods in a town or city—creating exponential impact through the power and joy of free, live music,” says Sharon Yazowski, President & CEO of the Levitt Foundation.

Reflecting the Levitt Foundation’s commitment to community-driven programming, recipients of the 2026–2028 grant cycle were selected through a combination of public voting and a comprehensive review process. In Miami, residents cast their votes between September 5 and 15, 2025, affirming strong local support for The Underline as the host site for the concert series.

The full lineup and concert dates will be announced in the coming months. As the series aims to highlight both emerging and established Miami artists, audiences can expect performances that reflect the city’s musical diversity and cultural energy.

With the support of the Levitt Foundation, Friends of The Underline plans to continue its mission of transforming the park into a platform for accessible and meaningful public experiences.
