UK trip-hop act Massive Attack announced today the cancelation of its appearance at III Points in Miami next weekend, along with several other U.S. dates. No reason was given except the vague claim of "unforeseen circumstances."

The news comes just a week before III Points is slated to begin. Massive Attack was slated to headline the festival on Saturday, October 19. (Previously announced act PinkPantheress also canceled her appearance at the festival as well as the rest of her U.S. shows.)

III Points acknowledged the cancelation on Instagram, writing, "We are actively searching for new talent to fill this spot on the lineup. Back soon with updates." Festival founder David Sinopoli also wrote on his Instagram stories, "III Points over the years has had more than its fair share of challenges. In the process, we have been forced to learn serenity and accept that so many aspects with festival planning are out of control... We are working super hard to fill this slot on Mindmelt, and hopefully, soon, we can share some good updates."

The festival has certainly endured plenty of obstacles during its run. From the Zika virus to hurricanes, III Points has managed to weather it all. When Hurricane Matthew threatened Florida in 2016, it forced the cancelation of that year's headliner, LCD Soundsystem. (Miami was unscathed by the hurricane, and the festival went on as planned.)

While there's no official word on who will take over Massive Attack's slot, there are still plenty of other acts to look forward to this year, including French duo Justice, legendary band Parliament-Funkadelic, Spanish rapper Bad Gyal, and British funk/neo-soul outfit Jungle.
