Los Altos is one of Little Havana's best-kept secrets. In 2019, it opened as the unexpected mezcal and tequila-focused speakeasy above Taquerias el Mexicano. Look for the inconspicuous bouncer stationed on the sidewalk. Once inside, you'll travel up a flight of stairs to a fully functioning bodega brimming with imported confections and chili-flavored snacks. Beyond, the venue effortlessly transports you to a Mexican wonderland complete with repurposed church doors, vintage hardwood floors, stained-glass window accents, and plenty of sugar skulls. A sleek metal bar and brightly hued banquettes beckon — as does the bevy of scantily clad señoritas ready to take your order from the mezcal- and tequila-heavy cocktail menu.
