The Best Places to Celebrate Chinese New Year in Miami

The Chinese Lunar New Year officially kicks off today, February 5, and there’s no better way to celebrate the year of the pig than with a week of gluttonous consumption.

From pork-forward tasting menus to Asian-inspired libations, Miami’s bars and restaurants are ready for another round of fun. So dive face first into one of these prosperous Chinese New Year’s dinners.  All tasting menus are available until February 9, unless stated otherwise.

Drunken Dragon. The South Beach eatery specializing in Korean barbecue and kitschy drinks has joined forces with Zuma for a lush Chinese New Year’s edition of its Drunken Tiki event. Hakkasan. Miami Beach’s Hakkasan is bringing prosperity and luck with its Chinese New Year tasting menu. Priced at $108, the repast begins with such starters as Peking duck with crispy bean curd and mango or a classic dim sum duo rolled in sesame seeds. Entrees include hearty plates of wok-fried lobster with spinach and lily bulb and lamb with shiitake mushrooms. End the evening with a fun fortune cookie macaron. Jaya.  Jaya offers a five-course Peking duck menu ($110) curated by executive chef Vijay Veena. Palmar. The Wynwood restaurant offering modern takes on classic Chinese dishes is hosting a five-course Chinese New Year feast complete with champagne toast.
