Independent Journalism in Miami Needs You
We need to raise $10,000 by August 9 to support the reporting our community depends on. Reader support keeps us independent and is playing a larger role in funding local journalism and shaping what comes next. If you believe independent local journalism matters, make a contribution today.
Lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered women will be treated to two gastronomic adventures this Saturday and Sunday as part of Aqua Girl – a multi-day event celebrating LGBT women. Proceeds from all Aqua Girl events are used by the Aqua Girl foundation to distribute grants and scholarships to women.
Dish
Saturday, May 14
8 p.m. to 1 p.m.
Smith & Wollensky, 1 Washington Ave., Miami Beach
Guests will be treated to a three-course dinner in a private dining room. This menu must be very hush-hush because repeated calls and emails to the restaurant and the foundation couldn’t get us a peek.
Tickets cost $55 in advance and $60 at the door for non-members and $50 in advance and $55 at the door for members.
Jazz Brunch
Sunday, May 15
11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Emeril’s Restaurant, 1601 Collins Ave., Miami Beach
In addition to the regular Sunday brunch, Emeril’s will also be providing a live Latin Jazz performance by Leslie Cartaya and complimentary bloody Marys for all Aqua Girl ladies. This event offers the perfect opportunity to get rid off your hangover from Saturday night’s Paradise Garage.
Tickets cost $45 in advance and $50 at the door for non-members and $40 in advance and $45 at the door for members.
