The NCAA has no integrity. The cutthroat organization that oversees collegiate sports does everything possible  to prevent student-athletes from making a living but nothing to stop scalpers from profiting off the young men who play at sold-out stadiums. Just look at the price gouging for tickets to this weekend’s game between the Miami Hurricanes and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, which will be played at Hard Rock Stadium Saturday at 8 p.m. Saturday.

Just hours after President Donald Trump threatened war on North Korea, 3,000 people formed a huge human peace sign at Hialeah Gardens High School. The symbol wasn’t a protest, and Trump’s name never came up, but the message was unmistakeable: War is not something anyone wants.

Papa John’s founder John Schnatter claims he lost $70 million this week, at least partially due to the NFL controversy that centers on players kneeling during the National Anthem to protest racial injustice and inequality. “This should have been nipped in the bud a year and a half ago,” Schnatter said. “The [NFL] controversy is polarizing the customer, polarizing the country.”

On last night’s nationally televised Thursday Night Football, the rest of America got a taste of what Miami Dolphins fans routinely deal with on a weekly basis. The Dolphins’ embarrassing 40-0 beatdown at the hands of the Baltimore Ravens this past Thursday was just the latest episode of what has been a season of some of the most disgusting offensive football the franchise has ever seen.

Jay Cutler is done playing for the Miami Dolphins. Well, he’s done for at least a couple weeks after fracturing multiple ribs against the Jets this past weekend. The loser will face devastating consequences in the competition for the best high-school players from South Florida.

Hurricane Irma delayed the University of Miami’s game at Florida State, which didn’t seem like the worst thing for the Canes at the time. UM was coming off a less-than-impressive season-opening victory over Bethune-Cookman, and Miami’s Week 2 game against Arkansas State had also been canceled because of Irma. And FSU was then the number three team in America.

Jay Cutler came to Miami infamous for his rocket arm and indifferent demeanor. Through three games, Dolphins fans have seen glimpses of Cutler’s strong arm and a heaping helping of his negative-cares face. In Miami’s 20-0 loss to the New Orleans Saints in London Sunday, one particular play stood out as “that’s so Cutler.”

This weekend, it’s breakfast with the Dolphins. After last week’s disastrous 20-6 loss to the New York Jets, though, you might want to eat before the Dolphins take on the New Orleans Saints at 9:30 a.m. in London, just to be sure your meal isn’t spoiled.

NFL owners are a racist lot, but Donald Trump threw them a lifeline by calling players who protest the National Anthem “sons of bitches” who ought to be fired.

Dwyane Wade’s triumphant return to his hometown is already over. Wade and the Bulls agreed to a buyout last night, meaning he is now free to sign with any NBA team. The Hurricane Irma recovery effort is in full swing, but once again Miami’s hardest-hit African-American communities have to fend for themselves.

Four days after Irma, millions of Floridians are still stuck without power in the sweltering summer heat. Those outages have now killed eight elderly people trapped in a Hollywood nursing home without air conditioning, due to circumstances that FPL was warned about at least two days before the tragedy.
