Fueled by a growing movement of consumers looking to shop more sustainably and affordably, buying secondhand has gained popularity in recent years.
According to a recent analysis by Capital One Shopping, approximately one-third of clothing items bought in the U.S. over the last year were pre-owned.
The nationwide rise in tariffs, increased cost of living, and gentrification of thrifting among younger generations have led consumers to give secondhand a second look. And with Miami ranking as one of the least affordable cities to buy or rent, it’s no wonder people are choosing to shop at local thrift stores.
Luckily, Miami has countless secondhand shops from which to choose. Here, in alphabetical order, are the best thrift shops in Miami (with some vintage and consignment shops thrown in for good measure).
Dragonfly Thrift Boutique
5815 SW 68th St., South Miami

@dragonflythrift
Minutes north of The Shops at Sunset Place, Dragonfly Thrift Boutique — New Times‘ Best of Miami pick for the Best Vintage Clothing Store of 2025 — sells quality vintage pieces for a great cause.
From chunky Alaïa heels to Prada readers, proceeds from every purchase go to the Ladies Empowerment & Action Program (LEAP), a nonprofit that offers education, housing, employment, community, and other resources for women transitioning from incarceration. Store employees are graduates of the program, and the store’s “More Than” Collection features merchandise inspired by women who have benefited from the nonprofit’s programming.
After six years in Little Havana, Dragonfly opened a bigger space in South Miami in October 2024. Some rooms are dedicated entirely to home furnishings and decor, others display racks upon racks of secondhand clothing, and one glass-walled space houses designer items. Pro tip: Sign up for the boutique’s text alerts to take advantage of flash sales and deals on frequently updated online exclusives, and browse its inventory online before you step inside the store.
