Miami New Times social media editor Edysmar Diaz-Cruz is a writer and digital communications specialist. A University of Florida graduate with a B.S. in Journalism, she’s interested in how stories travel—from the newsroom to the newsfeed, and how digital platforms can deepen local connection. Before joining New Times, she worked in multimedia storytelling and social media management across several Miami-based organizations, including covering local stories for the Miami Herald and breaking environmental news at the environmental nonprofit Miami Waterkeeper.
