The Fillmore Miami Beach at the Jackie Gleason Theater is a 2,200-seat theater in the heart of Miami Beach. It opened in 1951 as the Miami Beach Municipal Auditorium, and for five years, it was the home of The Jackie Gleason Show – hence the name. Unfortunately, much of the historic charm was stripped when Live Nation renovated the theater in 2007.
Still, the theater’s façade exudes art deco charm, and the upgrades Live Nation made make it a well-equipped theater that feels both intimate and grandiose.
The Fillmore was temporarily closed due to the construction of a hotel for the adjacent Miami Beach Convention Center. Its fate hung in the balance as city commissioners debated whether to raze the venue to build a new one or renovate the existing structure. The good news is that the Fillmore is here to stay – for now.
Its 2025 concert schedule is shaping up to be a good one, with Latin talent like Mau y Ricky and Ca7riel & Paco Amoroso all set to appear. There are also live performances folk-rock outfit Wilco and new-wave icon Elvis Costello on deck.
