Another week, another crop of weirdos making Florida look bad. All drunk, bikini-clad grandmas and snakebite boys aside, we’ve had a pretty rich run this month with city-wide poetry fest O, Miami, not to mention this week’s Miami Gay and Lesbian Film Festival. For those who can’t shell out dough for movie tickets, however, we’ve collected a bundle of cheap activities sure to satisfy your culture cravings.

Monday

  • Dr. Harold Reitman at Books & Books: Listen to the orthopedic surgeon, former professional heavyweight boxer, and movie producer discuss his book, Aspertools, a guide to embracing neurodiversity, as well as The Square Root of 2, a film he wrote and directed inspired by his daughter’s experience dealing with Asperger syndrome at college.

Will you step up to support New Times this year?

We’re aiming to raise $30,000 by December 31, so we can continue covering what matters most to you. If Miami New Times matters to you, please take action and contribute today, so when news happens, our reporters can be there.
