We can only imagine the KNR Restaurant Group guys are experiencing pain more excruciating than a cavity since they got a resignation letter from their insanely talented executive pastry chef, Antonio Bachour, this week. (Bachour not only won this year’s Best of Miami for Restaurant Dessert, but he was also labeled one of the Top 10 Pastry Chefs in America.)
Probably even more stunned is Andrew Carmellini, who is set to debut The Dutch this winter.
Bachour’s responsibilities included the W South Beach’s food and beverage program, along with desserts for Quattro Gastronomia Italiana and Sosta Pizzeria Enoteca, along with KNR’s New York gigs with Trump SoHo.
When we sampled Bachour’s delectable manchego cheesecake at the now defunct Solea back in June, he disclosed plans for an exciting new dessert-centric outlet scheduled to be unveiled shortly after the new concept’s opening, but now it seems he is planning for a sweeter gig with an A-list chef.
Short Order got a tip-off as to where he’ll be going but we
were sworn to secrecy until mid-October. However we were given
permission to share a swipe of icing: Bachour promises we’ll be seeing
much more of him ’round here than before.
