Beastie Boys fans have plenty to look forward to this year: MCA is

cancer free and the Brooklyn trio’s Hot Sauce Committee Pt. 2 is on track for a Spring 2011 release — even

though part one’s indefinitely delayed.

In 2009, the Beasties had to pull out of several

headlining gigs (including one in Miami) after Adam “MCA” Yauch was diagnosed with cancer of the parotid

(salivary) gland. The illness also delayed the release Hot Sauce Committee Pt. 1. But now that Yauch’s in better health, the hip-hop crew’s finally back in action.

In an interview with BBC Radio 1’s Zane Lowe, the Beastie Boys’

Mike D said the group is “really happy” about Yauch’s current health status,

and when asked about Hot Sauce Committee,

he said: “It’s still delayed – the first one. (But) the second one is

coming out as originally scheduled.” As for a potential Beastie Boys tour, the rapper said, “We’re

still going to have to see how (Yauch’s) doing.”

In the meantime, expect a dope video from the group to premiere

in the very near future. And according to Mike D: “It’s not even a video. it’s a film-eo — a cinematic, short film.”

Until then, enjoy our favorite Beastie vid below.
