Keep Miami New Times Free
We’re $1,000 away from our spring campaign goal!
We’re aiming to raise $10,000. Your support ensures New Times can continue watching out for you and our community. No paywall. Always accessible. Daily online and weekly in print.
If Gramps had announced this party a bit earlier, it would have surely make Crossfade‘s list of best free New Year’s Eve events. And in a city where the average general admission ticket for tonight’s festivities ranges in the hundreds, it’s great to see a solid New Year’s Eve celebration cost nothing.

Arthur Baker, who’s done music production for the likes of Afrika Bambaataa and New Order, will be spinning tonight along with Gramps’ slew of regular DJs like Juan Tapia and Lorraine Sangre.
Baker will be taking over the backroom — yes, there is a backroom — and helping you ring in 2013 with drink specials, bocce, and food by Ms. Cheezious.
NBC Miami also reports that part-time Miami resident and Trainspotting author Irvine Welsh will be making an appearance as well. “My buddy Arthur Baker decided to throw a back-in-town party, so we thought: ‘Let’s have some if that,'” Welsh tells NBC.
Let’s indeed!
