The chain, whose name means "my hometown" in Korean, is bringing its popular hand-battered, double-fried crispy chicken to South Beach after expanding to more than 455 locations worldwide. Founded by Jinduk Seo, who apparently spent years perfecting the double-fry technique and signature sauces, Bonchon built its reputation on the crunch factor that sets it apart from American-style fried chicken.
@kie_eats Bonchon 😋 I always get the soy garlic chicken. With onion rings. The crunch is just 😮💨 #asmr #notalkingmukbang #mukbang #fypシ #fyp #mukbang #asmrfood #bonchon #crunchy #friedchicken #chicken #kieeats #food #eating ♬ original sound - Kie 🍯
Beyond the Fried Wing
The star of Bonchon's menu is obviously the fried chicken, available as wings, drumsticks, strips or boneless pieces. Each order comes hand-brushed with your choice of soy garlic, spicy Yangnyeom, or Korean barbecue sauce. Traditional Korean sides like kimchi and pickled radish accompany the chicken.But the menu stretches beyond chicken to include Korean staples like bibimbap (rice bowls with vegetables and protein), japchae (glass noodles with vegetables), and bulgogi (marinated beef). The restaurant even offers fusion items like Korean tacos and bulgogi fries—thinly sliced marinated beef piled on seasoned fries with mozzarella cheese and spicy mayo.
Sweet tooths can finish with Korean donuts—soft, fluffy pastries coated in cinnamon sugar served with cream dipping sauce. The drink menu features beer (including local options from Wynwood Brewing Co.) and wine-based cocktails similar to sangria called Tintos de Verano and Blancos de Verano, a nod to Miami's Latin culture.

This marks the Bonchon restaurant in Miami, with six more locations planned across the area over the next few years, including a Doral outpost this summer.
