Luxury media outlet The Robb Report has just released its ranking of the 10 Best New Restaurants in the U.S., and Sunny's Steakhouse has been named the best new spot in America. For those of us who've been lucky enough to snag a seat under the glowing string lights of Sunny's banyan tree-lit courtyard or at its beautiful bar, this isn't breaking news.
From the restaurant's humble beginnings as a pandemic pop-up to its permanent brick-and-mortar debut in October 2024, Sunny’s has been quietly (but boldly) redefining what a steakhouse can look, feel, and taste like in Miami. Sunny's has made it clear that steakhouses are no longer reserved for graduation parties or intense Valentine's Day dinners. Sunny's welcomes all, from a group of women looking for a happy hour spot to a fun double date night and beyond.
What Makes It No. 1 In the U.S.?
The Robb Report called Sunny's the best new restaurant in America, thanks to its thoughtful blend of elegance and ease. The menu features luxe cuts of USDA Prime and wagyu beef, delicious seafood, hand-cut pastas, and one of the most underrated raw bars in the city.Just this past April, Sunny's landed on Condé Nast Traveler's 2025 Hot List, an annual roundup of the best new restaurants in the world. The list, which spans from Mexico City to Melbourne, highlights the year's most buzzworthy openings, and Sunny's earned its spot for turning what started as a pandemic-era pop-up into one of the most exciting places to dine in the U.S.
Earlier this year, Food & Wine named Sunny's one of the 15 Best U.S. Restaurants of 2025, and the Michelin Guide added it to its list of recommended Miami spots this past March. Therefore, the national recognition comes as no surprise.

What to Order at Sunny's For First Timers
Must-orders at Sunny's include the dry-aged ribeye served with a rich potato butter sauce, Parker House rolls that arrive warm and fluffy, and the now-iconic blue crab agnolotti that pays homage to the team's Jaguar Sun roots.New Times also recommends guests start with the caesar salad and wagyu carpaccio, the former being crisp and full of umami flavor, and the latter being silky, rich and melt-in-your-mouth good. You can also go for the classic "Little Gem" salad or tuna tartare. For mains, the steaks are a no-brainer (this is a steakhouse), but if you're feeling fancy, the duck breast is a worthy wildcard: tender, juicy, and beautifully cooked.
Another must-order are the fries with the potato butter. This isn't a suggestion, it's a public service announcement. That creamy, buttery potato magic...there's also an extensive cocktail list with an entire section dedicated to gin and custom vodka martinis. But get the Parker House rolls, a steak, and fries with potato butter and thank me later.
