Miami's food scene is no stranger to the spotlight. In July alone, a Miami restaurateur was ranked among the best pizza chefs in the world, a local Italian food truck made Yelp's Top 100 Food Trucks in the U.S., and two South Florida ice cream shops were ranked the best in the country. Now, the city has something else to brag about: chocolate.

A beloved Miami chocolatier has been named one of the best in the nation by USA Today's 10Best, celebrating standout independent chocolate shops across the country. Voted on by readers, the list recognizes small-batch artisans known for their creative flavors, premium ingredients, and handcrafted confections.

Garcia Nevett Named One of the Best Chocolate Shops in America

Coming in at No. 3 is Garcia Nevett Chocolatier de Miami, a South Miami gem run by Venezuelan-born sisters Susana and Isabel Garcia Nevett. It is the only Florida spot to make the list.

What started as a home-based business in 2012 has grown into one of the most respected chocolate shops in the country. Trained as professional chocolatiers in Venezuela, the sisters bring deep knowledge of cacao and an artistic touch to everything they make. Their creations are made with single-origin Venezuelan chocolate and often infused with local flavors like Key West honey or Miami citrus.

The menu ranges from soft caramel and pistachio discs to their beloved s'mores bar, which layers a graham cracker base with house-made marshmallow and rich dark chocolate. Their hand-painted bonbons feature combinations like sea salt ganache and orange honey caramel. In addition, the shop offers a selection of cookies, brownies, and truffles, plus gluten-free options.

Since opening their brick-and-mortar shop in 2018, the sisters have transformed their vision into a space that feels more like a chocolate studio than a shop. The open kitchen and glass cases let customers see the process behind the treats, while the ever-changing menu keeps locals coming back for more.
