Another New York City spot for Italian cuisine is bringing its housemade pasta to Miami, but this time, its atmosphere is more rustic than high-end. (We're looking at you, Felice Brickell and Carbone.)

Rosemary's, an Italian restaurant chain founded in New York's West Village neighborhood, will open this fall at 322 NW 25th St. in the heart of Wynwood.

Rosemary's was founded in 2012 by Carlos Suarez, who was inspired by his mother Rosemary's home and vegetable garden in Lucca, Italy, which she shares with her husband, Raul. She is known to host elegant dinners with seasonal ingredients from her garden for her guests, which is a way of hosting Suarez has aimed to emulate at his restaurants.

After growing in popularity in the West Village, the restaurant has since expanded to Midtown in New York City and Tokyo. Now, Miami will get the chance to taste the hand-shaped pasta and neighborly hospitality.

"We're excited to bring Rosemary's to Wynwood," says founder and owner Suarez. "We look forward to helping to shape and contribute to the Wynwood neighborhood as it continues to evolve rapidly. Rosemary's will offer an oasis of neighborly warmth, good taste, and good food without pretense or high prices. My family called Miami home for close to 20 years, so opening feels like a homecoming, and we hope Rosemary's, for locals and visitors, will feel like home to them as well."

A Rustic Atmosphere and Menu Centered on an Urban Garden

The restaurant hopes to contribute to the community in the coming weeks ahead of its opening through thoughtful community partnerships, sustainability efforts, and fresh, locally sourced ingredients from its onsite urban garden built in partnership with Little River's Cooperative.

With an urban farmhouse feel, the restaurant combines a rustic atmosphere with modern touches. Outside, guests will find a garden, which the kitchen will use as a cultivation area for in-house produce and herbs.

Details like the in-house garden were important to Suarez, as the menu pays tribute to his mother with dishes that aim to taste as if they were "home cooked" and ingredients that are mostly locally sourced.

Helmed by Miami-based executive chef Craig Giunta, the menu includes a variety of seasonal vegetables, pasta, fresh seafood, made-from-scratch mozzarella, and an array of focaccia. House favorites include the eggplant caponata with roasted vegetables, pine nuts, and agrodolce; the orecchiette with housemade sausage, broccoli rabe, Fresno chili, and Parmigiano; and the chopped salad "Siciliana" with escarole, olives, sun-dried tomatoes, artichokes, crisp chickpeas, ricotta salata, and almonds.

On a sweet note, dessert options include the restaurant's popular olive oil cake, tiramisu, and the bombolini with Nutella crema. As for drinks, the restaurant features a cocktail list with Italian spritzes and classic cocktails alongside an Italian wine list.

The restaurant has more than 7,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space designed by New York-based interior design firm Dekar Design.
