Remember back in May when New Times reported that Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler was about to fulfill his lifelong dream of opening a coffee shop with the first brick-and-mortar location of his coffee company, Bigface?

Well, his team just confirmed to New Times that Bigface by Jimmy Butler opened at 9 a.m. on Friday, December 6, at 40 NE 40th St. in the heart of the Miami Design District.

The buzz around the brick-and-mortar began during his interview with GQ, where Butler said his dream coffee shop was slated to open in Miami's Design District in September. While it might be a few months behind, the opening is a perfect way to close out Miami Art Basel week.

This week, Bigface announced the news on Instagram. The caption reads, "The wait is over. Bigface by Jimmy Butler is officially opening in the @miamidesigndistrict. Experience a new frontier in coffee this Friday, December 6, at 9 a.m."

The coffee shop fits the brand's aesthetic with its airy space and a silver bar in the middle of the shop where baristas will prepare coffee and serve pastries, all of which can be enjoyed in the lounge area or the outdoor patio.

Inside, the walls are filled with merchandise and whole-bean coffee for sale — products that were once only available on the website. Some highlights include all five coffee beans that the brand is known for, including the isolated origin "El Placer" and the brand's multi-origin "Doublestar."

Additionally, a variety of apparel with the Bigface logo and bold designs worn by Butler will be available for purchase, like the hockey jersey. Plus, the shop will sell barista-ready gear like tumblers, mugs, a brew grinder, and a steam pitcher.

For those on the go, ready-made oat lattes will be sold by the can in flavors that include the original, coconut cinnamon, and ube vanilla.
During his interview back in May with GQ, Butler also said he may work a few shifts as a barista at the BigFace shop. Does that mean he will be behind the bar this Friday? Only time will tell.

Heat fans and coffee lovers who want to try their luck in meeting the basketball star and tasting some Bigface brews can head to 40 NE 40th St., Miami, on Friday for the opening.

Just recently, Butler and Bacardi announced their latest partnership with the second iteration of Rum Room Domino Club, serving its signature "Café Con Ocho" cocktail made with Bigface coffee and Bacardi rum.
