This Thursday, October 10, we'll be throwing a little get-together for all those who knew and love the late David Dubrow.

Our intern fell victim to the injuries sustained in a Connecticut house fire in August. And we miss him terribly. But the best way to honor him is by raising our glass and toasting to his life and raising as many funds as we can in his name.

Join us at Wood on Thursday at 6 p.m. for a benefit fundraiser with fantastic raffle prizes and incredible silent auction items and a cocktail or two.

Every last dime we raise goes to the Connecticut Hospital Foundation where Dubrow was cared for during the nine days following the accident. We've invited all his friends, all his family, all of our family, and you.

It wouldn't have been possible to pull this event off without the help from our sponsors who have been generous and gracious in donating their goods and services to the cause.

For the raffle, we will have these items available to win:

Blue Collar 3-course dinner for two with bottle of wine

Two Turnberry Golf Passes

P. Cherry art on canvas

Mark Cherry art on canvas

Two bottles - 2005 Kistler Pinot Noir, Kistler Vineyard

Two family four-pack passes to Miami Seaquarium

Four Seasons Sunday Brunch at Edge for two

Two tickets to Tongue & Cheek Kitchen Collab with Clay Conley (10/17)

Gift certificate to Haven Gastrolounge

Dinner for two at Fontainebleau Miami Beach

Blue Collar swag (tee, mug, hat)

Two VIP tickets to the South Beach Seafood Festival (10/19)

Gift certificate to La Latina plus a La Latina tee

For silent auction, we'll have:

Maserati GranTurismo Convertible for the weekend courtesy of Ferrari Maserati of Fort Lauderdale

A round of Botox, courtesy of Brandon and Miranda Kallman

Two nights at Occidental Grand Cozumel, Mexico (all-inclusive resort)

Two nights at The Biltmore, Miami

Masha Feterman art on canvas

Chrome Hearts Silver Dog Tag from Alchemist, Miami

Oxygene gift certificate

Alexis Guillen will be your intern for a day (to clean, chauffeur you around, or do anything else short of a crime)

Here's the Facebook event invite.

We encourage you to arrive at 6p.m. so you have enough time to browse through the great prizes and find out more about them. At 8p.m., we'll begin announcing the winning raffle ticket numbers and we'll close off the auction to the highest bidder. After that, we'll have a toast.

Note: If you can't stick around until 8p.m. to find out if you won something, we'll have a clipboard where you can leave your contact info and we'll call you if you won. You'll be able to pick up your prize from our office in Wynwood (down the street from Wood) at your convenience.

Please bring cash (small denominations, if possible) for raffle tickets. We can take cash or checks (made out to Bridgeport Hospital Foundation) for silent auction items. If you'd like to make a donation with your credit card, we'll be walking around with a few iPads to make that possible.

This event was originally intended to help the Dubrow family with the monstrous costs of David's long-term recovery. But now the only way we can honor him is by toasting to his life, and celebrating the gift of giving back -- just like David did.

Hope to see you there!
