Brandon Hoy and chef Carlo Mirarchi, the duo behind famed Brooklyn pizzeria Roberta's and Foul Witch, are headed to Miami Beach's North Beach neighborhood with a hot new steakhouse. Ezio's Steakhouse, which first opened as a pop-up inside Roberta's Bushwick location in 2024, will open its first standalone restaurant this fall inside 72 Park, a new luxury condo development. The restaurant will occupy the ground-floor space at 580 72nd St., wrapping around the northwest corner of the building.

However, this isn't the first time Hoy and Mirarchi have cooked in Miami. Back in 2017, Roberta's ran a six-month pop-up at the Jungle Plaza in the Miami Design District, serving wood-fired pies like the "Bee Sting" and the "Famous Original." At the time, it was one of the buzziest imports in a wave of New York restaurants testing South Florida waters.

So when Roberta's was announced in September 2023 as the future anchor tenant for 72 Park, it wasn't much of a surprise. But somewhere along the way, plans shifted. Instead of pizza, the space will now house Ezio's, a high-end Italian steakhouse named after Mirarchi’s father.

From a Bushwick Pop-Up to the Beach

Ezio's began as a pop-up at Roberta's Bushwick flagship location, earning early praise for its mix of housemade pastas, local seafood, and dry-aged meats. In Miami, the menu will include 30-day dry-aged lamb saddle, 90-day dry-aged rib steak for two, whole-roasted John Dory, and charbroiled veal sweetbreads. Drinks will highlight local fruits, and a wide-ranging wine list will round things out.

"We are excited to bring Ezio's Steakhouse to Miami Beach's dynamic culinary scene,” Mirarchi said in a statement. "We feel privileged to contribute to the energy and growth happening in North Beach, and 72 Park is the perfect location for Ezio's first brick-and-mortar venture."

A New Chapter, Minus the Pizza

Hoy and Mirarchi launched Roberta's in 2008 in a cinderblock space in Bushwick. With pies like the "Speckenwolf" and a rotating menu of pastas and seasonal plates, they helped shape Brooklyn's then-up-and-coming food culture. Their second full-service restaurant, Foul Witch, was included in the New York Times' 2024 list of the 100 Best Restaurants in New York City. Roberta's was most recently featured in the paper's roundup of the 22 Best Pizza Places in New York.

The new steakhouse will open in late fall 2025.
