Long gone are the days when the only spot for coffee was Starbucks. There are now national chains along Grand Avenue like Sweetgreen, Salt & Straw, and Le Pain Quotidien (I would've been shocked by this in 2011). Although change is a good thing, there are excellent restaurants that have stood the test of time.
When I compiled this list, I celebrated the time-tested, longstanding spots that have become Grove institutions while highlighting notable newcomers that might just become your new favorite spot.
Whether new or old, each restaurant on this list has one thing in common: they're a delicious, family-friendly addition to the neighborhood. This sincere, laidback, and wholesome atmosphere makes the Grove so unique. (And any new restaurant that tries to be too fancy can scram. Respectfully.)
