It's nearly over — the five-alarm dumpster fire that has been the 2024 election season, that is.
Americans head to the polls today to elect the nation’s next president and choose officials at the local, state, and federal levels. Voters across the Sunshine State are also deciding the fate of six state constitutional amendments, including initiatives that would guarantee abortion access and recreational marijuana.
Polls in Florida will close at 7 p.m. (And if you’re in line at 7 p.m., you can still vote!).
To help distract you from your (well-placed) Election Day anxiety, New Times has created a fun little game to play at home as the results roll in.
Introducing: Miami's unofficial Election Day bingo.
The rules are simple: Players may cross off a square each time its listed phrase or event is uttered or occurs in real time. (For example, if your beloved tia pastes a WhatsApp chain message with election misinformation into the family group chat, mark that square!)
Whoever gets five squares in a row, vertically, horizontally, or diagonally, gets to yell Bingo!
If you're looking to incorporate alcohol into the game (we certainly don't blame you), have each player declare one word or phrase on their card before the debate gets underway. Whenever that word or phrase is mentioned, they do a shot of their drink of choice.
We've attached several downloadable versions of the card at the bottom of this page.
Good luck — it'll all be over soon! (Maybe.)
