South Florida is officially under an evacuation order to Tropical Storm Elbo Room, thanks to back-to-back Stanley Cup Champion Florida Panthers. If you live anywhere near Elbo Room in Fort Lauderdale, do not leave your house without a pair of ski goggles. You will be at risk of getting beer in your eyes courtesy of a Florida Panther.
"An Elbo Room watch has been issued for your area," Sun Sentinel journalist Adam Lichtenstein first reported on X after the Panthers went up by two goals over the Edmonton Oilers in the first period in Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Finals. "This means beer poured from a century-plus-years-old trophy from a bar balcony is possible in the next 24 hours. Please continue to monitor local media for updates."
Fellow sports journalist Tim Reynolds warned, "This means some truly deplorable and tremendous events are possible in the next 12 hours. Save yourselves." At the end of the second period, Lichtenstein announced that the watch had been upgraded to a warning.
When the final buzzer sounded on Tuesday night, the Panthers had defeated the Oilers in Game 6 at Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise, bringing home the Stanley Cup for the second consecutive year.An Elbo Room watch has been issued for your area.

The Panthers got on the board less than five minutes into the game after forward Sam Reinhart stole the puck in the neutral zone, danced around an Edmonton defender, and scored on a sliding shot. Matthew Tkachuk added to the Panthers' lead with a goal of his own in the first period. Reinhart scored again in the second period and got the hat trick with an empty-net goal with six minutes left in the contest. An empty-netter less than 60 seconds later put the icing on the ice, though Vasily Podkolzin managed an unassisted tally, resulting in a 5-1, Cup-clinching win for the Panthers as the na-na-na-ha, hey-heys echoed around the arena.
Panthers players will likely descend upon the Fort Lauderdale bar in the early hours of Wednesday morning. But Even before the puck was dropped, fans were ready to celebrate. The camera caught a fan with a sign that read, "Next stop Elbo Room." Tkachuk's brother and fellow NHL player, Brady Tkachuk, was spotted in the crowd wearing an Elbo Room hat.
After the team captured its first Stanley Cup in franchise history last year, the players took the Cup to Elbo Room the following morning to celebrate. They belted the lyrics to "We Are the Champions," and filled the trophy with Bud Light as they partied with fans. Photos and videos show Tkachuk using the Cup to pour beer onto the crowd outside the two-story bar along the beach.
Soon thereafter, Tkachuk took the Cup for a quick dip in the Atlantic Ocean. Is it too early to camp out at Elbo Room⁉️
