South Floridians are once again taking to the streets to protest President Donald Trump — this time, as part of what's expected to be the largest single-day protest since his inauguration.

More than 1,000 protests are scheduled to take place at state capitals, federal buildings, and congressional offices across the country on Saturday, April 5, as part of the nationwide "Hands Off!" mass movement. Organizers say they're rallying against Trump's handling of Social Security benefits, rolling back of protections for immigrants and transgender people, and federal workforce layoffs led by his unelected government efficiency czar, Elon Musk, among other things.

According to a map shared by organizers, the demonstrations are planned in all 50 U.S. states — with seven (!) protests scheduled across South Florida.

"Donald Trump and Elon Musk think this country belongs to them," organizers assert on the Hands Off 2025 website. "We’re taking to the streets nationwide to fight back with a clear message: Hands off!"

Are the protests peaceful?

"Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events," organizers wrote on their site.
