Maybe police officers need to take sensitivity training to better understand the time honored traditions of the noble redneck people. That’s what Mark Thomas Wach seems to think.
After the Palm City man was arrested for shooting a lawnmower and pointing a gun at his son, he told police, “Fighting is what redneck people do.”
On November 20th, Wach, a self-proclaimed redneck, got drunk in his side yard in Palm City and begin shooting his lawnmower according to TCPalm. One of the bullets hit his 18-year-old son’s porch. Wach then begin shouting and complained that his son’s mother wasn’t paying child support.
He started brandishing the pistol, but the son managed to wrestle the gun away. He thought his dad would then go home to “sleep it off.”
Of course, rednecks don’t give up that easily. He returned with a 12 gauge shotgun, and started pointing the higher-powered gun at his son. The son once again managed to wrestle the gun away and called police.
Police arrived and had to use a tazer on Wach three time to calm down. Wach didn’t understand what the hubbub was all about.
“He then stated that he shoots in the yard all the time and that fighting is what redneck people do,” says the arrest release.
Wach was arrested and charged with aggravated domestic assault with a firearm and domestic battery.
