The multi-platinum, multi-Grammy-decorated artist bought the 13,349-square-foot, Mediterranean-style mansion at 1110 S. Ocean Blvd. for just over $22 million in 2015. While it features nine bedrooms and 11 bathrooms, along with prime access to the Intracoastal Waterway, the property didn’t move as fast as Joel may have hoped when he first put it on the market in 2022. Over several years, it bounced on and off the market at various price points before reaching this deal.
It's not the only home Billy Joel has listed for sale of late. He recently listed MiddleSea, his dream home on Long Island, for $49.9 million, telling the New York Times how he used to ride his bike through the neighborhood as a teenager and "look at all the rich people and cuss them out."
And early this year, another of his properties — a country estate in Highland Falls, New York, where the singer-songwriter wrote "New York State of Mind" — went up with an asking price of just under $2 million, which bounced as high as $2.5 million before it was pulled over Labor Day weekend.
That said, Joel reportedly joked at a New Year’s Eve concert that he'd be "spending more time in Florida like old Jewish guys from Long Island do" and then put his money where his mouth was in Boca Raton, in the form of a15,000-square-foot waterfront home in that Palm Beach County municipality's exclusive Sanctuary community.
Joel’s two youngest daughters, ages 7 and 9, now attend school in the Sunshine State. Real estate sales aside, he appears to be here for the long haul. As in: not "Movin' Out."

The estate's grand foyer is complete with a sweeping staircase, chandelier, and ivory keys suited for the "Piano Man."
