Independent Journalism in Miami Needs You
We need to raise $10,000 by August 9 to support the reporting our community depends on. Reader support keeps us independent and is playing a larger role in funding local journalism and shaping what comes next. If you believe independent local journalism matters, make a contribution today.
Holy rolls!
Rick Ross (AKA The Bawse) is gonna appear shirtless and covered in ice on the cover of this month’s Rolling Stone as he continues to push God Forgives, I Don’t.
But thanks in part to Crossfade contributor Jesse Serwer, we don’t have to wait to get inside the MMG man’s massive dome.
Just peep Rolling Stone‘s exclusive “Behind the Scenes With Rick Ross” video. Watch as he visits our local radio stations, meets with fans, and hits on every lady in sight.
To start things off, The Bawse goes to visit his Miami radio homies.
“This was the first station that played my music ever,” he says, sitting in the interview seat at 99 Jamz. “So, y’know, every album I put out, you know what I’m saying, I’m going to make sure to go out of my way to be here.”
Afterward, he moseys over to Power 96 and fields some questions from a row of suspiciously attractive female fans.
“I just want to focus on the team now,” he insists when asked about plans for MMG, his heavyweight record label. “We the Miami Heat of hip-hop.”
On his way out, Ross takes time to hit on the girl working behind the lobby desk, making sure she gets some camera time, even though she looks like she’d rather not.
But what you want doesn’t matter when the Teflon Don’s in the building. He’s the Biggest Bawse that you’ve seen thus far. Now, buy his album.
