New Year's Eve 2019: Miami's Most Expensive Parties

Are you a 1-percenter looking for more creative ways to spend your money than sparking up hundred-dollar bills to light your cigars? Miami has a worldwide reputation as a place where ballers can blow their hard-earned cash (or inheritances) on partying. If you're not of the retirement-plan philosophy and still use "YOLO" as a mantra, peruse this selection of New Year's Eve parties with the most outrageous price tags.

J Balvin & Alesso New Year's Eve at Fontainebleau Miami Beach. General-admission tickets to this poolside event start at an almost reasonable $300, which includes a premium open bar until midnight. Sip champagne under the stars while you watch a live performance by J Balvin and DJ/producer Alesso. It is VIP status where real financial debauchery begins: Prices increase to $40,000 for a platform or a row in front of the stage for 25 people. 4441 Collins Ave., Miami Beach; fontainebleau.com/nye.

NYE 2019 With Benny Benassi at Wet at the W South Beach. For only $200, you get to hear the sounds of Chicco Secci, Youssef, and headliner Benny Benassi, who "will bring his universally renowned electro-meets-house sound to W South Beach's WET for a live concert NYE party." General admission includes an open bar from 9 p.m. to midnight. If you really want to impress your accountant, drop $15,000 for the teasingly named Ballers Cabana, where you can ring in the new year with 29 of your closest friends. 2201 Collins Ave., Miami Beach; wsouthbeachnye19.com.

NYE 2019 With EDX at Wall Lounge at the W South Beach. Elsewhere in the W Hotel is another expensive way to celebrate. "Wall prepares an over-the-top year's-end party headlined by 2019 Grammy-nominated DJ EDX alongside electronic dance duo Crazibiza, Chicco Secci, and a very special surprise guest." General admission costs $80, but you'll have to buy your own drinks. If you fork over $8,000, you can get a reserved VIP corner booth for up to 15 people, but you'll still have to purchase your own drinks with a bottle-service minimum. 2201 Collins Ave., Miami Beach; wallmiami.com.

Prohibition Ends at Hyde Beach. Two hundred bucks gets you general admission, an open bar from 9 p.m. to midnight, and the chance to listen to Robbie Rivera, Chris Valencia, and Dentin Costa. Also expect champagne towers, table games, and interactive performers. Snag a DJ Booth table for ten for $7,095, and it comes with an equally expensive caveat: You must also have a "minimum beverage spend of $5,500." 1701 Collins Ave., Miami Beach; hydebeach.com.

Mondrian Miami NYE Party at Mondrian South Beach. For $189, general admission lets you "indulge in an intoxicating oasis of NYE revelry and a four-hour premium open bar. An invigorating live DJ performance will keep the NYE vibes rolling with a hit playlist of Top 40, hip-hop, house, and mashups." New Year's VIPs can pony up $4,000 for the Ballers Cabana Bottle Package for 15 people. 1100 West Ave., Miami Beach; morganshotelgroup.com.
