The coming of spring at New Times headquarters brings the unmistakable sound of vociferous opinionating as we passionately debate the merits of our favorite aspects of life in the Magic City in preparation for our annual Best of Miami® issue.

This year, the 36th iteration (if our admittedly unreliable math skills have it right), we're calling our 2025 Best of Miami theme "Modern Classic": a winking metaphorical nod to this city's stubborn determination to take a wrecking ball to our past as we hurtle toward whatever vision its current generation of builders, boosters, and self-styled planners deem to be our gleaming destiny.

Of course, from the point of view of Miami's actual inhabitants, that drive to eradicate, pave over, and restyle is illusory. It's only human, after all, to take comfort in the familiar, the known. Those of us who live here love Miami not only for its sheen of subtropical sophistication but also for its constants, just as those who don't live here are awed not only by the infestation of cranes and rabid construction but by the pastel colors and the art deco architecture. And for every tourist desperate for reservations at the newest Michelin-starred jewels in our culinary crown, there's an equal and opposite visitor who wants to see Vizcaya or eat at Versaiiles or Joe's.

Which brings us to the unveiling of our annual Best of Miami® Readers' Poll, wherein we invite you to weigh in on topics in Arts & Entertainment, Food & Drink, Shopping & Services, and Sports & Recreation.

From pet stores to pawn shops, cocktails to cannabis dispensaries, and athletes to art museums, we want to know what you think.

And when it comes to voting in the Readers' Poll, we don't stop at urging you to vote early. We suggest you vote early and often. That's right: It's perfectly within the rules to vote once per day.

So click over to our Readers' Poll page and share your preferences. The poll will remain open until 11:59 p.m. on June 14. Results will be published in our Best of Miami® issue, which hits newsboxes and the internet on Thursday, June 26.
