Among the sights: RFK, Jr. (and his brain worm), an inflatable Trump Baby, and a booth poking fun at the Mar-a-Lago Face phenomenon.

The slogan of Coconut Grove’s King Mango Strut might as well be, “laugh so you don’t cry.” Almost nothing is off limits at this oddball parade, now in its 42nd year of poking fun at the news of the past year. The satirical event celebrates the weird, wonderful, and wildly unexpected through costumes, music, and community-driven performances.

This year, RFK, Jr. (and his brain worm) rode down the parade route, an inflatable Trump Baby walked the streets, and one booth made fun of the Mar-a-Lago Face phenomenon. Some participants protested ICE, Alligator Alcatraz, and the removal of rainbow crosswalks. Others continued to call for the release of the Epstein files, and some put together costumes commenting on the U.S. capture of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, an event which took place only one day before the parade.

Then there were the Miami-focused costumes. One man rode around on a bicycle with a dolphin face on it, bearing a sign that read, “Escaped Miami Seaquarium.” One family dressed up as an army of food delivery robots. There was also music by the samba percussion collective Miamibloco, and a procession by the Coconut Grove Hare Krishnas. Miami Mayor Eileen Higgins and Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava also walked the parade route.

Here are some of the many faces and costumes New Times spotted at King Mango Strut 2026.
