A massive tornado was seen ripping through Broward County near Weston this morning ahead of Hurricane Milton‘s arrival in Florida.
As the Category 4 storm approaches Florida, aiming to make landfall near Tampa Bay tonight as a major hurricane, a tornado was seen crossing I-75 along Alligator Alley around 10 a.m. today.
Several videos of the tornado – which appeared to touch down around five miles west-northwest of I-75 and the Miccosukee Service Plaza – were captured and posted on social media.
“TORNADO crossing I-75 as we speak! Seek shelter NOW!” the National Weather Service Miami-South Florida wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter) alongside a photo of the twister.

Broward County, Collier County, Hendry County, and Palm Beach County were under a tornado warning until 11 a.m.
Set to make landfall tonight along Florida’s Gulf Coast as a catastrophic hurricane, Milton is expected to bring significant storm surge, heavy rain, flash flooding, and high winds along its path through Florida.
Florida officials have urged residents along the southwest coast to follow mandatory evacuation warnings.
This is a breaking story and will be updated as events warrant.
