With Valentine’s Day just around the
corner — February 14, dummy — couples are looking for a romantic. old school place to share an ice cream sundae. They should check out Swensen’s Restaurant and Ice Cream, on US-1 in Coral Gables.
The Hugs & Kisses sundae ($6.75)
is balanced portions of hot fudge and caramel wrapped around smooth
and creamy vanilla ice cream. There are also Hershey kisses, white
chocolate shavings, a chocolate cherry, and a chocolate wafer to round
out the ingredients.
Okay, so the décor is outdated and those walnut-stained booths and stained glass lamp shades remind you of the 1960s. And service is no better than okay. But that’s part of the deal at Swensen’s. And hey, the Hugs & Kisses sundae is
a dreamy dessert for star-crossed lovers.
