The Best Things To Do This Weekend in Miami

The best time of the week is finally here – the weekend. And Miami offers everything from an international mango festival, a boozy arts and craft night, and a laundry list of concerts from the Eagles, Imagine Dragons, and Rascal Flatts. So drink a cup of coffee and take advantage of what this weekend has to offer.

Friday:

• Craft + Craft at The Wolfsonian-FIU: Aspiring sculptors can sip beer from J. Wakefield Brewing as they mold planters, candle holders, or any other type of sculptor during this boozy workshop.

• Cuba Out of Cuba: Through the Lens of Alexis Rodriguez-Duarte in collaboration with Tico Torres at The Freedom Tower at Miami Dade College: The exhibit features iconic photographs of Cuban figures living away from the island, from performers and designers to writers and artists.
• Eagles at American Airlines Arena: If the show feels like déjÁ  vu, that’s because the band played the same venue as part of the same tour (“History of the Eagles”) back on November 22, 2013.

Saturday:

• International Mango Festival at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden: Visit the mango tasting room, load up at the fruit market, watch cooking demos, and buy rare breeds at the mango auction. It’s a whirlwind of mango madness.

• Imagine Dragons at BB&T Center: The foursome is on the road from Sin City on their Smoke + Mirrors Tour, which’ll take them to the Sunset Cove Amphitheater stage in Boca Raton this weekend.
• Rascal Flatts at Coral Sky Amphitheatre: For country music fans, Rascal Flatts is often the sonic shoulder to cry on, the hand extended to help folks get back on track.
• Morning Again at Churchill’s Pub: Originally formed back in 1995, the outfit spat out a string of splits, EPs, and compilations, and one full-length, As Tradition Dies Slowly, before breaking up in 1999. Now their epic comeback show is at Churchill’s Pub.
• Machinedrum at Bardot: Travis Stewart’s music has been featured in the Academy Award-winning film Black Swan. He’s released 23 records in 15 years. And he’s only 33.

Sunday:

• Los Autenticos Decadentes at Grand Central: When 12 Argentines with an affinity for ska and rockabilly formed a musical group in 1986, their only intention was to have fun and play their friends’ parties. But now, 25 years later, they’re still going strong and plan to hit Miami with a night fans won’t forget. 
• Reggae Sundays at Jazid: This year, Jazid celebrates its 20th anniversary on South Beach. And with live music every damn night, this club has seen some of Miami’s best bands get their start on its stage.
• Lincoln Road Farmers Market at Lincoln Road Mall: You’ll find a spectacular display of fruits, veggies, fresh flowers and plants, bread, honey, jams, and other items that people around the country have to buy indoors.
