Independent Journalism in Miami Needs You
We need to raise $10,000 by August 9 to support the reporting our community depends on. Reader support keeps us independent and is playing a larger role in funding local journalism and shaping what comes next. If you believe independent local journalism matters, make a contribution today.
Moty’s Grill is rolling out at BTTR tonight.
Truck owner/chef Moty Goldman attended culinary school in Israel, then cooked for the Israeli army before moving to South Florida, so Moty’s Mediterranean has a distinct flair from that region.
Moty’s makes its own falafel batter daily. Chickpeas are blended with fresh spice and vegetables, and then fried in Canola oil to make a fresh and fluffy tasting ball.
All items, including Israeli salad, artichoke and eggplant, cabbage salad, hummus, and tahini, are freshly prepared every day. Though not “certified,” Moty’s serves only Kosher meats and keeps to all Kosher food handling rules, meaning no mixing of meat and dairy products (so you won’t find cheeseburgers on the menu).
Menu selections include boreka (cheese and spinach pie), kebobs, and chicken schwarma. Lemon Nana, a lemon-spearmint drink, will be especially cooling in the hot Miami summer.
You can try Moty’s at BTTR tonight from 5:30 to 10 p.m. Over 30 trucks are serving dinner at the location adjacent to Johnson & Wales University. This roundup offers free parking, nearby ATM’s live music and lots of grassy spots to picnic.
