Continental drift is ultimately to blame for electronic dance music’s latest heartbreak.
Had the continents not started shifting 250 million years ago, London might’ve only been a short domestic flight from Los Angeles, and Skrillex would still be dating Ellie Goulding.
According to The Sun, the dubstep messiah and electro-pop songstress have ended their nine-month relationship because dating, working, and living on opposite sides of the Atlantic is just too damn difficult to juggle.

Goulding calls London home and Skrillex reps L.A., a full country-and-ocean away.
But while they may live on separate continents, the two often work the same concert halls.
In support of her latest record, Halcyon, Goulding recently announced a four-week North American tour that kicks off at the Fillmore Miami Beach on Wednesday, January 16.
And if you’ve got a half-shaved head, an affinity for dubstep, and a home in London, Goulding just might fall in love with you.
