If anyone has had an amazing year, its definitely been the quirky electronic duo from Portland YACHT. After being relegated to relative obscurity since its inception in 2003, their breakthrough came after Claire Evans joined Jona Bechtolt in 2008 transforming the solo act into a duo.

Evans contributes much of YACHT’s pop appeal through kitschy but extremely catchy vocals balancing out Bechtolt off-kilter production. The first release as a proper duo was this year’s See Mystery Lights, which got high praises from publications like Vanity Fair, Pitchfork, and Vibe. You can bet your sweet ass this album is going to top be prominently featured on countless end-of-the-year music listicles.

But don’t take our word for it, you can witness the sheer awesomeness of YACHT when it sails into the Electric Pickle (2826 N Miami Avenue, Miami) for Poplife on November 14. Tickets are $10. For more information, visit epoplife.com.

After the jump, YACHT’s video for “Summer Song.”
