Back home in England, VV Brown is not only a hit-maker but also a noted songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. Here in the States, she’s done a Teen Vogue shoot and had her music included on a number of prime-time shows. Musically, she’s retro, but in the best kind of way, reviving ’60s pop/soul/rock the way that lots of us hoped Amy Winehouse would keep doing. Though she keeps trying to juice her single “Crying Blood,” she has a right to — it’s that good.
