Here’s a number worth caffeinating over: Miami’s famous Cuban restaurant, Versailles, has reached 20,000 Facebook fans.
The iconic café invites all of its fans to celebrate its social media milestone with a free cafecito – those adorably tiny, sugar-sweetened, Cuban-style espresso drinks – at La Ventanita, the 46-year-old restaurant’s walk-up coffee window, on SW Eighth Street.
As part of the restaurant’s anniversary celebration in 2011, Versailles launched the website versaillesrestaurant.com; expanded its social media presence on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram; and incorporated the hashtag #LoveVersailles into its promotions.
The official social media launch has been so overwhelming that Versailles is thanking its loyal followers by giving away its most popular beverage.

Today, April 12, beginning at 8:30 a.m., drop in for a complimentary cafecito at La Ventanita, café owner Nicole Valls says.
The Versailles menu offers a number of specialties, from Cuban sandwiches to croquetas, but the one item customers seem to love most is the restaurant’s authentic Cuban coffee, otherwise known as café cubano or cafecito, which is espresso-brewed with sugar whisked into the java, creating the drink’s distinct caramel-colored foam. The only thing better than a sip of that strong, sweet brew is knowing it’s on the house.
