With another medical marijuana legalization vote coming this November, legal weed opponents have spread a ton of misinformation over the past few months. The idea that pot is ten times as powerful now as it used to be? Straight-up lie. The rumor that marijuana caregivers will turn into “dope dealers with storefronts”? Willful distortion of the facts.

So tomorrow, New Times will speak with Ben Pollara, campaign director for the pro-medical-marijuana lobbying group United for Care, to hash out what’s really going on with Amendment 2, the ballot initiative that could legalize medical weed across Florida this year.

At 2 p.m., we’ll sit down in Pollara’s office for a 30-minute chat via Facebook Live — and we’re encouraging you to send us any marijuana-related questions you’ve got in the leadup to the presentation.

Confused about who can actually buy medical weed if the initiative passes? Comment on Facebook. Want to know what sort of doctor can give you a marijuana recommendation? Tweet your question to me, @jerryiannelli, or the @MiamiNewTimes account with the hashtag #AskBen. Afraid that medical pot will destroy Florida? Comment under this very post.
