“A jug of wine, a loaf of bread and thou” was all Edward Fitzgerald needed in when translating Persian poetry in The Rubáiyát of Omar Khayyám. That was so 19th Century. In these modern times you and your thou need something more, like the Brunellos and Super Tuscans of Italy’s Ferragamo family (think shoes. . . your thou probably knows all about them), each paired to one of four courses prepared by Giancarla Bodoni, chef-proprietor of Tuscany by way of South Beach favorite Escopazzo. Dinner begins at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 9, and costs $75 per person. Along with the wine, bread and thou will be a raffle of Ferragamo goodies (maybe. . . shoes?), though to get in on all this you’ll have to call the restaurant at 305-674- 9450 for reservations.
