“A jug of wine, a loaf of bread and thou” was all Edward Fitzgerald needed in
when translating Persian poetry in The Rubáiyát of Omar Khayyám. That was so
19th Century.
In these modern times you and your thou need something more, like the
Brunellos and Super Tuscans of Italy’s Ferragamo family (think shoes. . .
your thou probably knows all about them), each paired to one of four courses
prepared by Giancarla Bodoni, chef-proprietor of Tuscany by way of South
Beach favorite Escopazzo.
Dinner begins at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 9, and costs $75 per person. Along
with the wine, bread and thou will be a raffle of Ferragamo goodies (maybe. . .
shoes?), though to get in on all this you’ll have to call the restaurant at 305-674-
9450 for reservations.
Fri., Sept. 9, 7:30 p.m., 2011
Will you step up to support New Times this year?
At New Times, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $17,250 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $30,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of New Times, now’s the time to give back.
